Restaurants and Hiking

Restaurants:
12 Bones BBQ  is a must if you enjoy meat.  President Obama ate there twice (at least). It is only open on weekdays for lunch – closes at 4pm – but it is AMAZING.
Rosetta’s Kitchen is a great model of local, activist vegan tattooed pirates.
The Laughing Seed is a great vegetarian restaurant – upstairs from Jack of the Wood.
Plant is another good veggie friendly place.
Homegrown is a reliable slow food eatery that is close to UNCA campus.
Luella’s barbecue, is also locally sourced, close to UNCA and worth a visit.
White Duck Taco is a local favorite. The lines are usually long because the food is simply amazing for the price.

Hiking:
Two very worthwhile nearby hikes on the Blue Ridge Parkway: Craggy Pinacle and Graveyard Fields. If you want more, HikeWNC.info has a lot of great suggestions.
